How it works. A small add-on inside NinjaTrader answers your assistant's questions over your own PC's loopback address, the one a computer uses to talk to itself. No server, no account, no internet in between. Your assistant asks, the add-on answers with the live numbers, and that is the whole mechanism. Then you ask: what is on my charts? Where did I get filled? Mark the swings. Build me a scorecard.

What it doesn’t do

Today it manages orders you placed. “Get flat” closes the position.

Charts, accounts, trades, questions—the bridge sends none of it to High Tech.

Your AI provider is separate. A cloud AI receives your questions and the data it reads. Its privacy terms apply.

You choose the access

AI Bridge (port N) — Must be on for any AI access. The number shows your port; the default is 47831.
Control Center > Help > High Tech Trading Analysis > AI Bridge

Choose a different port

Ask your assistant “What port are we using?” or “What range can I choose from?” You choose the number. “Is 54321 available?” checks without changing anything. “Change it to 54321” checks and applies it in one step, then your assistant reconnects and verifies it. If unavailable, the existing port stays in use and you can choose another. The assistant does not pick a number for you.

You can also click Set port... directly below the bridge switch. Enter a number from 1025 to 65535 and click Save. The change applies immediately; a message confirms it. No NinjaTrader restart is needed. If the port is unavailable or the setting cannot be saved, the previous port stays in use. If the bridge is off, it stays off.

Your assistant and the supplied report scripts read the saved port automatically. You do not need to edit a file or remember the number. A custom port does not act as a password; the bridge still accepts connections from this PC only.

Which permission does what?

With the bridge on, allow your assistant to:

  • Charts — Open charts and other windows.
  • Workspaces — Create, open, switch, save and close workspaces.
  • Orders — Manage orders you placed.
  • Chart Trader — Set account, quantity, TIF and ATM.
  • Scripts — Build scripts and run backtests.
  • Destructive — Delete, overwrite or close without saving: workspaces, scripts, drawings, indicators, charts, windows, templates.
    • Unattended — Skip the question. Left off, it asks you in the chat before each one and waits for your yes.

Pictures folder... — Choose where chart pictures are saved.
Data folder... — Choose where bar CSV files are saved when you do not name another location. These files stay until you remove them.

Chart permission: Add __HTAIBridge to allow changes to that chart, its indicators and drawings. Orders need it too.

Set it up

Once in NinjaTrader. Once in your assistant.

AI Bridge is included with All Access (U-Suite) and requires that license.

In NinjaTrader

  1. Install AI Bridge.Close NinjaTrader. Run the installer or installers you received. Your guide and AI files go in Documents\HTTA\HTAIBridge.
  2. Start NinjaTrader.Approve the trusted source prompt if shown.
  3. Switch the bridge on.Control Center > Help > High Tech Trading Analysis > AI Bridge > AI Bridge (port N). The default number is 47831.
  4. Connect your data feed.The walkthrough uses minute charts, so you need intraday data. Daily data works for other bridge tasks.

Extra permission switches can wait until the lesson needs them.

In your assistant

  1. Open your AI assistant.Use your desktop app or terminal with local command access.

    Need one? Install and sign in: Claude Code setup or Codex setup.

  2. Open any folder.A project of your own or Documents\HTTA\HTAIBridge. The bridge works from either.
  3. Send this sentence.

    Your assistant reads its instructions and connects to NinjaTrader. If it cannot connect, it checks this PC first and tells you what it found.
Git, Python and first-run checks

When NinjaTrader is not answering, your assistant runs one read-only check for Git and Python. It asks before installing anything. Python is for sample reports; ordinary bridge use does not require it.

Git requirements depend on your assistant and session mode. Installing Git alone does not create a history of your files.

If your assistant cannot connect, check that NinjaTrader is open and the bridge menu item is ticked.
